What is instant orthodontics and what are the benefits?
Instant Orthodontics is an advanced way to obtain the appearance of straight teeth without the traditionally long wait of metal braces. Instant orthodontics accomplishes a straighter smile through the use of porcelain veneers, which are wafer-thin shells of porcelain that are applied to the visible surfaces of teeth for the purpose of aesthetic correction. With this accelerated treatment type, results can be achieved in just a few visits. Instant orthodontics is also much more inexpensive than orthodontic treatment with braces.

What tooth problems can instant orthodontics correct?
The primary purpose is to enhance the smile’s appearance by creating the illusion of straighter teeth through the use of porcelain veneers. However, veneers can also address other tooth problems such as gapping, discoloration, chipping and overlapping.

How are porcelain veneers applied?
The ceramic or porcelain shells are permanently bonded to the front surfaces of teeth on either the top or bottom row. When placed correctly, veneers can be very natural-looking and durable. The veneer is custom designed in our lab based on your tooth mold and colored to match your natural tooth shade. In just a few visits, you could have a perfectly-aligned smile.

What can I expect during the veneer placement process?
During your first visit, Dr. Cavalier will evaluate your dental health and recommend the treatment that is best for your unique situation. During the second visit, the teeth being treated will be prepared to make room for the new veneers. Then, she will take a custom mold of your teeth, which is sent to our lab for the veneer design. If necessary, temporary veneers will be placed at this time. If necessary, temporary veneers will placed at this time. During your third visit (about two weeks later), your permanent veneers will be applied.

Am I a candidate for Instant Orthodontics?
Good porcelain veneer candidates have a healthy, balanced bite and are in good general health. Instant orthodontic candidates may also have the desire to change the appearance of their teeth by correcting uneven, crooked, gapped, discolored or crowded teeth.
